Management & Booking Agency

Subdivision Management & Subdivision:Booking Agency are separate limited liability companies whose core ethos is the legal representation and promotion of progressive heavy bass artists. Rather than go the traditional route and sign artists who we know will pack an airplane hanger to capacity, these companies affiliated with the Subdivision collective signs only artists provides managerial and booking agency services for a collection of artists we hold in the highest regard. The business ethos upon which the Artist Management and Booking Agency is founded is the quality of the artist’s work, rather than the quantity of the crowds to which they perform. Rather than target bigger name DJs and producers, Subdivision Management and Subdivision Booking Agency represent musicians whose progressive work often is years beyond the creative output of the stadium filler DJs and producers.

As all of the employees of the Managment and Booking Agency are either DJs or producers, we are constantly hunting for that next great sound. Therefore, the artist rosters for both companies consists of talent who are creating just that – an original sound fiercely ahead of the pack.

Unlike other management firms, Subdivision Management offers a unique legal insight into the business side of the entertainment world. Rather than hire a third party firm to handle our legal matters, Subdivision Management retains in-house counsel. Our legal staff may be retained by any one of the artists on the Subdivision Management roster, giving our artists a unique advantage with anything from artist to media relations and promotions, recording and licensing contract negotiations with distributors and labels, and any other legal needs our artists require. Subdivision Booking Agency also offers the same in-house legal treatment, assisting non-U.S. producers and DJs in procuring temporary work visas, negotiating performance contracts and resolving contractual disputes, and soliciting and procuring national performances for our artists. Subdivision Booking Agency is unique among its peers in that it begins all performance solicitation on behalf of an artist with a established understanding of the law. Subdivision Booking Agency and Subdivision Management stringently protects the artist’s creative interests within the boundaries of the law. This is just one of the unique benefits of being on our roster.

The Artist roster for

Subdivision Management (indicated by SDMGMT)

Subdivision:Booking Agency (indicated by SDBA) include:

stenchSTENCHMAN

Dover’s Stenchman is one of the most original Dubstep artists in the history of the genre. Hidden beneath his gimp mask, this Dubstep alchemist forges gypsy horns, junkyard rhythm, and Merry Melodies madness beneath apocalyptic wobble. His Bovinyl Moosik record label mirrors his manic sound scape, featuring releases of similar ilk. Subdivision: Booking Division are overjoyed to have King Stink on our roster. MOOOOOO!! (SDBA)

suspectSUSPECT

Also hailing from Dover, Suspect shares a similar vision as Stenchman when it comes to Dubstep production; however, if Stenchman is Dubstep’s Tasmanian Devil, Suspect is its Wylie Coyote. Suspect revels in the spaces between the hits of the high hats creating an abyss of sound that transports the listener somewhere beyond the dance floor. As the other half of “Suspicious Stench” – Stenchman & Suspect’s side project – Suspect’s sound swallows his audience like a blanket of dusk and keeps them captive until his sonic storm is over. (SDBA/SDMGMT) SUSPICIOUS STENCH MYSPACE

switchdubsSWITCHDUBS

The third piece of the Bovinyl Moosik trifecta, Switchdubs completes the powerful bass pouring over bucolic Dover. Cousin to Stenchman, Switchdubs brings the same spastic productions rooted in his genetic code. Bursting onto the scene with his wildly popular Cypress Hill remix, “Child of the West”, Switchdubs shows no signs of slowing with dance floor wobblers such as “Wagamama”, “Mother from the East”, and “Stick Up.” Like his partners Suspect and Stenchman, Switchdubs creates completely original Dubstep – uniquely his own despite sharing the same brain as his Bovinyl brothers. Keep your ear to the ground for more massive Switchdubs productions. There’s gotta something in that Dover water……. (SDBA/SDMGMT)

squiresTHE SQUIRE OF GOTHOS

Hailing from Sheffield, the birthplace of Bassline, The Squire of Gothos are the sowing the seeds of the genre’s future. Even the elite producers of Bassline seem tame compared to the Squires; and yet despite being grouped into their hometown’s championed genre, the Squires are hardly “Bassline.” Rather, they combine the best elements of Electro, Nu-Rave, Dubstep, Techno, Heavy Weight Bass, and Bassline to create a sound distinctively their own. Perhaps the best description of their sound is by the Squires themselves: “Free parties in graveyards. Happy hardcore on downers. Electro House’s Evil brother. Speed Garage nights with more violence. Dubstep with less nerds and harder drugs. Hitting a woman copper in the face with a cro-bar.” Need we say more? (SDBA)

thrillsTHRILLS

Rather than us rave about about Seattle’s THRILLS, we will let his peers do the talking:

“Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick, i need these tunes in my life ;) ” – Mickey Slim

“feeling your sound…heavy!!!” – Detboi

“this shit deserves to be out… NOW…” – Drop The Lime

“you’ve got some really cool sounds going on over there!” – Le Castle Vania

“tunes are wicked” – Destroy Disco

“you’re my favorite noisy-dirty-trash / Justice-like band of the month”

Red Hot Car (Fluokids)

“Lo Night Jukies is wicked” – Turboweekend

trhTONY ROCKY HORROR

Also from Seattle, Tony Rocky Horror, along with Thrills, is part of the bass heavy variety pack that is pouring out of the Pacific Northwest. Like Grohl & Cobain in the 1990′s, the collaborations between Thrills and Tony Rocky Horror develop into powerfully original bass productions. However, Tony, like Grohl, is a powerhouse in his own right; the yang to Thrills’ yin. Keep an eye out for his forthcoming The Bonnie Situation EP on Espionage Audio, evidencing the talent of this thundermaker. I also hear he gives a great foot rub, and can defy gravity, surviving falls from multiple stories. Face it, Tony Rocky Horror don’t need a wallet to let you know he a bad motherfucker. (SDMGMT)

ndNATE DAY

Nate started his career with the Philadelphia drum and bass crew Substitution. He has shared stages with powerhouse drum and bass acts including Goldie, DJ Marky, DJ Zinc, SS and J Majik. In 2008 Nate moved West to Los Angeles and quickly made a name for himself by playing all over the LA circuit including DJ AM and Steve Aoki’s Banana Split and The Do Over. Nate have his first East Coast tour and first trip to Europe during this year. However, 2009 is proving to be a break out year. Nate’s production is already being played by the likes of DJ AM, Thee Mike B, and Fools Gold artist Sammy Bananas as well as being featured on mixes by DJ Fashen and Mr. White. Most recently Nate has been remixing for Iceland’s Steed Lord, as well as working with long time friends and fellow drum and bass veterans, Mental Sharp. As a promoter Nate’s “Loose” parties gained attention by having artsists like Diplo, The Cool Kids, Tittsworth, LA Riots and the Gaslamp Killer play in some of the most intimate and underground spots in LA. His new party, “More On The Floor”, is already proving to top “Loose”. Nate Day is more than just a DJ/producer – he is a performer, whose stage presence and energy transcends his genre bending sets.
