For those that missed DJG‘s phenomenal set last night at Belvedere’s for Surefire Sound, it only seemed fair to try to share with you all the experience that is DJG live.

Exactly 1 year ago, Big Up Magazine requested that DJG curate their second podcast. A year later, this podcast still crushes and remains one of my favorite mixes of the past 12 months. And although DJG might be from Northern California, this Big Up podcast remains one of my favorites to have on my iPod during the frigid winter months in Western Pennsylvania. ENJOY!!

Our Halloween party went off without a hitch, well into the conveniently-timed daylight savings’d night. Stumble was in town (he just moved to Savannah over the Fall) and the Metropolis folks were bringin the house and disco heat in the basement. Oh and peep the new Subdivision shirts! Available soon..

Subdivision Pittsburgh wants to again share our gratitude to Mary Anne Hobbs for a great show at Shadow Lounge on Saturday night. Amazing show! And to top it off, Mary Anne more than a brilliant selector, but a beautiful person uniquely her own. It is great to meet a person so comfortable being herself. Thanks again to all of Pittsburgh who came out on Saturday. We promise to post up the photos soon!!

- Three hours sleep…

- Arrive in Pittsburgh to find it’s the American version of Steel City (Steel City in the UK is Sheffield)

- I eat a chocolate cookie so sugary it gives me heart palpitations.

- Battling with punishing exhaustion and cold sweats… I burned off so much adrenaline in NYC that I’m like a charred twig of a person.

- @I_Skream posts on Twitter ‘TOURING WILL NOT BEAT ME’… I empathize completely with those sentiments.

- Victor, my agent, and Teddy and Jess (the promoters at Shadow Lounge) are effortlessly lovely people… and the place is hectic and happy.

- This is the single freakiest altered state that I have experienced, let alone performed in. I feel like if somebody had gently poked me, my entire body could crumble into dust.

- Joe’s diner breakfast is my first proper meal in 20 hours… the bacon tastes like God fried it himself.”
