The gifts just keep on coming this holiday season!! This time, from Subdivision family members, The Squire of Gothos.
As you all well know, The Squire of Gothos are one of my favorite production duos in the world. Hailing from Sheffield, Great Britain’s Kingdom of Steel, they continue to put out the weirdest dance music. We’ve posted about their OFF ME NUT record label before – but never like this!
This week, the Squires released the follow up remix E.P. to this July’s Patio E.P. It features remixes by Kanji Kinetic, DJ Donna Summer, blnd!, Mr.Sly, Dizz, Ricorb, Darkstorm , Crackatoa, Subliminal, Heapy, Kommon, and Dankle. Thirteen tracks of pure dancefloor mayhem. Oh yeah, and IT’S FREE.
Click on the links below listen/download the 320 remixes off the Patio Remixes EP.

Not to sound too inarticulate, but OH FUCK YES!!
Our friends dear friends over at Big Dada just delivered a musical Red Rider BB Gun into our mailbox moments ago. Christmas came a bit early this year & just in time for the weekend!! Subdivision is overjoyed to share with you THREE FREE REMIXES OF BANG ON’s HANDS HIGH!!!!
Some of you may remember a post we did a few months back on Bang On! – a 20 year old kid from Toxteth, who released one of the better tracks of 2010 – Hands High. Now, we are proud to deliver FREE 320 REMIXES of that stand out track by the likes of Raffertie, Dixie, & Reklews.
For those new to Bang On!, lemme put it like this – young Elliott Egerton is the next wave of UK rap. Coming hard, fast and funny in a thick Scouse accent, he first popped up a few years back with his Scally Thugs freestyle on Rusko’s “Cockney Thugs”. Since then Bang On! has developed an enviable reputation in the North West as a blazing live performer who turns the cliches of both hip hop and grime on their heads. Hands High is a brutal jump-up dubstep monster produced by shadowy scouse wunderkind Dixie over which Bang On machine-guns stream-of-consciousness observations on Liverpool life: Toddla T put it best – “”So hot, I ain’t even got any of his tunes yet”
Hardcore, uncompromising, charming and with a fierce intelligence, Bang On! is set to not only change the landscape of British rap, he is damn near inventing it.

Kastle, a being that is “older than the universe”, recently shared a preview of his forthcoming Seclusiasis EP, Time Traveler, on Soundcloud. Enjoy your journey in his Tardis
We at Subdivision love all things Secret Agent Gel. We love his eclectic genre-bending productions; we love his Sub FM show The Kids Are Bored; we love his Bass Tourist label; we love his brilliant file sharing site Dubfiler; we love that he is a sage and official “professor” of Ableton Live; and, most of all, we love the man himself. For all these reasons and more, we want to share with you another reason to love Secret Agent Gel – his Cooking Up Bass EP.
For Bass Tourist’s 10th release, Secret Agent Gel pairs up with Brooklyn’s Liz Toft for Cooking Up Bass a dark, UK funky house banger. The b-side, the instrumental Frankenstein, runs with the spooky, bashy house theme. The perfect sound coming from Brooklyn’s Victor Frankenstein.
As this will 10th release on Bass Tourist, Cooking Up Bass will be released on October 10th, 2010 – Secret Agent Gel’s birthday! And to top it all off, the birthday boy will be hosting a very special The Kids Are Bored radio show/release party in lovely Brooklyn, New York. Be sure to check his site for more event details whilst listening to this 128kbps preview of the Cooking Up Bass EP.

Underworld is what got me into dance music. dubnobasswithmyheadman remains one of my all time favorite records. I have only seen them twice – April 1999 and August 2009 – but you would have never known a decade had passed once Karl Hyde and Rick Smith got on stage.
The new record, Barking, was produced collaboratively. Although Karl Hyde and Rick Smith wrote each of the songs, they then sent them out to other artists for additional production and enhancement, including the likes of Appleblim & Al Tourettes, Dubfire, Mark Knight & D. Ramirez, and even trance overlord Paul van Dyk.
I was very excited to see that XLR8R is streaming Barking, before its release on September 13, 2010. I had to share with you all:

Also, be sure to check out the 3 Disc “Barking Box” from Om records. Looks well worth the fifty…
Subdivision chum, George Lenton, just sent us some new tracks for your downloading enjoyment. He also recently released the brilliant Stay Around ft Jack the Lad this week. Cop it here.
Forward - George Lenton Capone - George LentonWe gotta thank our friends over at Nightshifters for this one. It’s HUGE!!
Now, everyone knows that Hostage is an unstoppable music-making beast of legendary proportions pumping out hit after hit, week in and week out. And he’s been a busy, busy boy since his Radio 1 Essential mix earlier in the summer, playing alongside Annie Mac at the Manchester Apollo, Rockness Festival and he set the Arcadia Afterburner stage at Glastonbury ablaze -literally! Not to be restrained in the slightest, he’s back with 2 killer new tunes on this, his first free Ep on Nightshifters.
With “Roll” we see Hostage shows us a slightly more subtle hand, well, that’s before the bass drops! With “The Ba$$” he’s back at his no-holds-barred-kicking-down-the-fucking-rave-door approach with one of the most ridiculous noise-bass drops you’ll hear this year. It’s massive!!
With tracks this good, we had to pull together some remixes to make a nice tidy package for you so we asked Samo Sound Boy to turn on his Bubblin machine to bring you a bouncy dancehall flavored remix of the lead track while Figure takes the bass for a wobbly thrill ride. Nightshifters honcho Dj Donna Summer smacks you with some garage-flavored orchestral-rave to round out the set. That’s not a genre you see too often, now is it?
